Alone, we can do a little. Together, we can do a lot.

Serving isn’t just about providing food and shelter for others in need. It’s more than that. It’s holding a hand while we pray, showing up when no one else would, or giving a word of encouragement when the day is long. When we give freely, we grow.

We’re taking mission events into the community and encourage our members to engage people where they are. Mission has its roots in our life with God.

Some of our ministries include Room at the Inn, Rise against Hunger, Harrisburg Crisis Assistance Ministry, a partnership with Wolf Meadow Road Elementary School, Habitat for Humanity, United Methodist Commission of Relief, and Opportunity House. Through these and many others, we provide opportunities to meet the real needs of the Harrisburg community. It’s easy to get involved.

Pearl Knit Ministry: Wrapping Love in Every Stitch

At HUMC, our Pearl Knit group is dedicated to offering comfort and support to those in need through the creation of prayer shawls and lap blankets. Each shawl and blanket is lovingly crafted by our members, with the intention of providing a tangible expression of our congregation's prayers and care.

Get Involved: Whether you are skilled in knitting or crocheting, or simply want to be part of this ministry through prayer, we welcome your involvement. By joining Pearl Knit, you can help make a difference in someone's life, bringing them comfort and reminding them that they are not alone. Pearl Knit meets on Wednesday at 10 am

Harrisburg Crisis Assistance Ministry

Our Food Pantry through Harrisburg Crisis Assistance Ministry has helped thousands of our neighbors. Our goal is to provide food to Harrisburg residents who don’t have enough to eat and need help with groceries for their next meal.

The Food Pantry is located at Rocky River Presbyterian, 7940 Rocky River Road, Concord, NC 28025. The Food Pantry is open Mondays from 8:30 - 11:30 am. You can shop one time every 4 week.

For Financial Assistance call 704-957-8629 to make an appointment. Should you get the answering machine clearly leave your name and number.
